STEM has come to our library. We have snap circuits, keva bot maze, and code-and-go robo mouse. Plus a ton of new legos. Eventually, we hope to have a dedicated place to store these items, but they are available to be used now. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) teaches kids how to learn these concepts in a fun and engaging way. Believe me, if I can figure out how to code a mouse to go through a maze and find the cheese, you can, too!
This is a good time to remind everyone that Story Hour is held the first Saturday of each month at 10:00, and Book Club is on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00. However, kids can come in anytime to play with the mega-blocks and get creative with paper and glue. And we have some pretty comfy chairs if you are in the mood to spend some time where it's halfway quiet and read. We have plenty of reading material to choose from!
Our summer reading program returns this year with the theme "We Love Our Earth!" Kids will learn about nature, animals, and how we can respect them and our environment. All ages are welcome; older siblings can explore our STEM stuff.
We are excited to announce our OPEN HOUSE! After a winter spent enlarging and remodeling our library, we are ready to officially show it off. Be sure to make it one of your stops while you are in town for Irish Fest. We will be open Saturday, June 15, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
